The Reedman Ancestors
The surname Reedman can mean a 'Reed-man'- a cutter of reeds or a thatcher or it can be a nickname 'Red-man' possibly describing someone with a red face or hair. My Reedman ancestors came from Langtoft, Lincolnshire. They worked mostly as agricultural labourers.
